Support goodness

We’re looking for likeminded people who want to support our family bakery.

Starting during the depths of the pandemic, Night Heron Bread found its footing as a place for the Alameda community to get the best quality bread in the most neighborly way.

We’re taking steps to build a professional bakery and community food hub in Alameda. Your support will give us the financial backing to secure a lease on the West End and begin developing a beautiful, modern bakery and cafe.

You’ll lend us a hand in purchasing a steam injected bread oven, spiral mixer, walk-in refrigerator, hood, and convection oven so that operations can be moved into the space.

“We’ve been weekly subscribers for a couple of years now, and we never get tired of their great sourdough breads and sweet treats. Robin and Trevor help make Alameda a special place to live. That their bread and cookies are the best in town is ‘icing on the cake!’”

—Ronnie, Mallory & Dave Penny, Alameda

The ripple effect

Help us think outside the loaf.

With a professionally outfitted production kitchen, we will begin building a small team of dedicated food professionals who are similarly committed to developing offerings that are enhanced by whole grains and sustainably grown, seasonal produce from Northern California.  Our long-term goals include developing a menu featuring toasts, sandwiches, and sourdough pizza, establishing long lasting relationships with small farms that are part of our local food system, and a vibrant farm-to-table after-school cooking program for children.

We want to bring whole foods that put the farm first to Alameda, food that is simple, refined and rustic (kind of like us). And we’ll pay our workers a living wage because it’s the right thing to do.

If you want to help us reach our small but mighty, dreams, we’d love to hear from you.
